Synaptic Misfirings of an unpublished author

Thursday, February 09, 2006

I'm lucky enough to have a very good friend by the name of Fleur, who has very kindly reminded me of the minor drought of updates of late with a somewhat stern email. This is something I asked her to do if she caught me shirkin' on any of my new years resolutions, and something I always do on any resolutions I want to actually to stick to. I'm just glad she's on my side, I don't think I've ever been physically cowed by a }:| smiley before.

Anyways, there is a reason besides abject laziness for my lack of posting - for some reason my blogging increases as the quantity of fiction writing I do increases, and my fiction writing has been suffering of late owing to a character death and lots of unhappiness in my characters. I've resolved not to spend much time dwelling it, because I'm not enjoying writing it. If I'm not enjoying writing it, you can guarantee that no-one will enjoy reading it either, and so I pretty much ahve to blitz through it.

And yes, I know on a more logical level it's a little silly of me to get hung up on the relationships between groups of people who don't exist. True, everyone does it, but that doesn't make it any less stupid, to get upset about things which haven't actually happened to anyone that actually exists.

But hey, no-one said life was logical.
